Immunisation

This resource supports people working in vaccination settings to develop learning on how communication skills in the context of their role, can be used to achieve positive shared experiences.

The resource supports delivery of a facilitated session that lasts approximately 3.5 hours.

Learning outcomes -  By the end of this session participants will:

• Describe the context of effective communication in relation to the concept of person-centred care
• Describe the principles and use of active listening and responding skills
• Describe the principles and use of de-escalation techniques
• Have an action plan of how you will implement these skills in practice
• Be aware of other useful sources of information

Practitioners involved in vaccination should discuss locally available opportunities with their supervisor / line manager.
